In this context, "G" stands for "Generation," signifying the evolution of mobile communication technology. The categorizations of 1G through 5G are primarily defined by distinct technological advancements that encompass factors such as speed, service capabilities, transmission latency, and the success rates of various handover processes. Thus, 1G signifies the initial generation of mobile communication systems, while 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G correspondingly represent the second, third, fourth, and fifth generations of mobile communication systems. It's important to note that these generational distinctions are indeed a product of deliberate classification.
